Singles vs. Mothers in the work place

Monday (10.27.08) I emailed by boss I will be in at noon Nov. 4. It’s the big election day, polls are crowded just for early voters. It is my civic duty to make sure Mccain and his little baby arm don’t win. Also, just an FYI according to Georgia Law you are allowed two hours of un-paid time off to vote, however my company is nice enough to give one hour paid to vote.

Today, (10.29.08) my boss decides to reply to the email asking me to reschedule my day because her son’s school is closed and it’s Election Day. I lost it---it being my mind. I am so over these mothers in the workforce needing special attention and time off because of lil Johnny. I do not care! I have a life, family and projects I would like to pursue that this job interferes with regularly but I can’t say that when I need time off from work.

Here is why I lost it today. For Halloween, we took a vote who can stay still 5pm. Guess what...I'll be the only person in my group after 2:00pm left to cover…. oh yeah the single girl can work. I have a party to get ready for and traffic was a bitch last Halloween....I wanna leave early too! I emailed my boss a few weeks ago about Christmas and taking off the week of new years. Her reply well lil xyz school is closed and I need the week before and after off so I’ll get back to on your request April. Now I was just about use some colorful words to say how I really feel, but I won’t since this sentence follows the word Christmas. Don't wanna piss off baby jesus.

I replied to my boss’s email today letting her know I am frustrated with the single vs. moms with kids in the work force. I am not trying to offend anyone with kids and I know I am speaking from the opposite perspective but you mothers were in my position before so you can relate.
Just curious---- Is there a website to rent some kids in case of emergency----Need to call out of work, or leave early call this hotline and we’ll ship those ankle biters to you. Where’s that niche business. I’ll use those photos in the picture frame that you get from the store as my rented family. Yea they may be White or Asian but atleast I’ll have my get out of work free pass.

From the A-Team to Deez Nuts

Maybe its just me who thinks this way but if you replace a whole staff isn't it followed by something different or better or anything but the same…right? Over month ago Hot 107.9 Atlanta decided “re-structure” the entire A-Team morning crew and bring in something fresh----only thing I mean by fresh is the new name, Rickey Smiley Morning Show. Its still targeted for a younger audience, prank calls if not more and deez nuts--which I haven’t heard since high school. Deez Nuts was a funny throwback when I first heard it this morning but is it really the show’s tag line?

I grew up watching comic view and I think Rickey Smiley is hilarious. So this is not me hating, I guess my question or comment is, what is the purpose of the change. I know there is major shift in all facets of media and radio is not exempt. Syndication with well-known celebrities is diluting the airwaves leaving the local air talent wondering what will be their next gig. As for 107.9 morning show, the name has changed its just more of the same
